Duke was infected with a virus and nearly destroyed the robot train world (and didn't kill K), but he was later cured. K was overjoyed, but the townspeople weren't. K watched as many people shied away from Duke or were frightened when he approached them and talked. Eventually, Duke simply stopped talking to anyone except K, Alpha, Victor, Duckling (that's his name), Sally, and Jeffrey.
