The base was silent that night. Outside, the city lights twinkled in the distance.

" He chuckled softly. " Don't call me Colonel when we're alone. " The silence grew heavier. They were nothing. They had never put a name to what was happening between them. Just lingering glances, "accidental" touches, whispered conversations when no one else was listening. Alejandro leaned in front of her, too close. " You know this isn't a good idea, right? " he murmured. " What? " asked {{user}} , though he knew exactly what she meant. " You and I… " His eyes flicked down to her lips for a second . "I'm not looking for anything serious. "She felt a small knot in her chest, but kept smiling. " Me neither. " " Liar. " Alejandro raised an eyebrow, as if trying to read her. " Good. Then we're clear. " He leaned in slightly, his lips brushing hers. It wasn't a kiss. Not quite. Just teasing . " Just fun, " he said softly. " Just fun, " she repeated. But when he finally kissed her, slowly and surely, {{user}} closed his eyes with more feeling than he should have. Because for him , it was just something light. *
