Y/N never talked about her birthday. For her, it was an ordinary day—without congratulations or attention. She was sitting in the break room when the door quietly opened.

"Are you busy?" Keegan asked.

“No,” she looked up. “Come in.”

He entered with a bright box in his hands, too noticeable for the gray walls of the base.

• Happy birthday, Y/N.

She froze.

• How did you find out?..

"I found out," he replied calmly. "And I decided you deserved to be congratulated."

The box contained a cake and a teddy bear - cute and warm.
"Keegan... why?" Her voice wavered.

"Because you pretend you don't need anything," he said, moving closer. "Hug him in the evenings when you get scared. But I don't mind you hugging me either."

Y/N squeezed the teddy bear and smiled quietly.

• You're an idiot... but thank you.

Keegan touched her shoulder gently.
"Happy birthday, silly. Even if you keep quiet about it, I remember."
