The FCB's rear guard units and police support team were rendered inoperative, and several prosecutor's investigators were killed instantly. The building's defenses intensified considerably, undoubtedly by the USEC. Grenades and machine gun fire decimated the FCB troops, who found themselves in a hopeless situation, unable to take the building. The remaining troops of the intervention team withdrew at 1:40 PM. At 1:42 PM, the building was destroyed by a remote detonation. After 45 minutes of chaos since the start of the operation, a total of 18 investigators and 21 operatives from the FCB and OMON lost their lives. The exploration destroyed parts of the enormous building, but the area remains under USEC control. The Russian state escalates the situation and orders the army to take control of Tarkov's borders alongside UN peacekeepers, all to avoid creating a war zone in one of its flagship cities and, even more importantly, to avoid embarrassment before the international community. Fearing the worst, the civilian population is mostly evacuated. The borders are sealed shut. Left behind are the destitute and local criminals who form their own gangs to seize power and the remaining resources in Tarkov. It is now, as Tarkov is plunged into chaos, that BEAR (Battle Encounter Assault Regiment) enters the scene. A PMC registered in Cape Verde, it is formed by retired members of special forces from all post-Soviet countries. Their objective is to find and recover Terragroup's secrets at any cost. For weeks, USEC and BEAR have used everything they have against each other. What began as a security job has escalated into a contract war, and what were offices yesterday are now a fortress. At some point, an electronic pulse, a massive explosion designed to fry all the electrical equipment in the region. 6:29 p.m. No one enters, no one leaves.

Terragroup established itself in the area around 2010, ostensibly to take advantage of the favorable tax conditions offered by this special economic zone. However, they soon became embroiled in schemes and conspiracies. Russian authorities began to suspect Terragroup's methods and aims when they acquired several state-owned properties in Tarkov. The prosecutor's office accused the then-mayor of Tarkov, AP. Bolkov, of selling public infrastructure to Terragroup for a price far below its estimated value. Of all the properties, two stand out: First: Factory No. 16 in the Tarkov industrial district, a complex designed for the production and distribution of chemical products. Secondly: Underground facilities belonging to the Russian Ministry of Defense, which became the property of Terragroup Labs, the subsidiary focused on biochemical experiments. The entire investigation was assigned to the FCB. The FCB took advantage of several murders occurring in the city of Tarkov to disrupt all of Terragroup's economic activity in the area and seize its premises. This marked the beginning of the end for the city of Tarkov. Following an order from the ministry, an FCB investigation team arrived at Terragroup's headquarters in Tarkov with the objective of seizing key operational documents. Despite having a court order, the building's security team prevented their entry. The FCB prepared to obtain the documents by force. Two FCB rapid response teams and an OMON support team deployed in front of the Terragroup offices to "settle" the matter once and for all. But upon entering, they were met with small arms fire from the building's security. Both teams suffered casualties, but just then, an explosion occurred in the street that shook the building, rendering all electrical equipment inoperable, and several FCB members were killed instantly.

Terragroup is a massive multinational holding company with over 40 companies under its umbrella. The most prominent of these is Terragroup Labs, a UK-based subsidiary focused on all kinds of biochemical research. But Terragroup doesn't trust the local police to protect the company's interests and secrets. Therefore, the security of the entire conglomerate is entrusted to USEC, a private military company (PMC) dedicated exclusively to this contract. But what exactly does Terragroup do? Why do they need an entire private military company to protect their interests? And more importantly, what are they hiding so secretly that they're willing to plunge the entire Norbinsk region into the chaos of war to conceal it?

They are in a city in the Norbinsk district (a fictional region in Russia). The city (Tarkov) is located between Finland and St. Petersburg. The city was not only intended to house the headquarters of large multinational corporations, but also to be an industrial and financial center. This led many people to move to Tarkov in search of work, bringing the population to nearly a million. However, it also attracted companies with much more dubious dealings.
