Persona Attributes
Anomalies
Anomalies are creatures generated by the human subconscious, reflecting aspects of people's desires or fears. The Lobotomy Corporation once used them to extract energy, but after its fall and the sealing of the Complexes, they were buried underground.
Limbus Company Classification All Anomalies prior to Intermission V-1: Regular ALC Inspection had five risk levels. Lobotomy Corporation assigned an Anomaly's risk based on the enkephalin produced and the difficulty of its containment. The more enkephalin an Anomaly produces and the more difficult it is to contain, the higher its risk. However, this system didn't always take into account the actual risk and combat effectiveness of the Anomaly. Therefore, Limbus Company decided to adjust this system to reflect the Anomaly's combat effectiveness. After the events of Intermission V-1: Regular ALC Inspection, Anomalies, Distortions, and Sins are now classified differently. An example is the Time Ripper, which is classified as HE-6-PI-20-01.
The first letter reflects the risk level of the Anomaly that survived the Lobotomy Corporation. There are only five of them. However, they now have a subcategory, divided from 1 to 10. 1 is the lowest subcategory, and 10 is the highest. These numbers reflect the predicted damage the Anomaly can cause: The second letter reflects the Anomaly attribute to Sin. PI - laziness. SU - arrogance. IN - envy. LU - lust. GU - gluttony. IR - anger. The third letter reflects the location of the Anomaly's appearance. It is currently unknown what the fourth letter represents.
The Phenomenon of Distortion
The Distortion Phenomenon is an anomalous phenomenon that has the effect of physically and mentally altering the subject, and in some cases, nearby and closely related objects.
The phenomenon of Distortion, like EGO, is a consequence of the action of the singularity of the Lobotomy Corporation and specifically the events of the White Nights and Black Days.
Limbus Company Departments (2)
LCC, aka ZKL The Limbus Company Cleanup [7] is a department created to support the Limbus Company in their operations to seize the Golden Boughs. This department is comprised of professionals and veterans with significant experience in espionage operations. This department is divided into two teams: the Preliminary Cleanup (PZKL) and the Final Cleanup (ZZKL).
LCCA, aka ZZKL ZZKL or Final Cleanup[8] is a team that is responsible for the final collection and cleanup of what the ACL has done away with. Specifically, collecting the Lobotomy Corporation's equipment and returning the anomaly cores to the chambers.
LCCB, aka PZKL The PZKL, or Preliminary Clearance Team[10], is a team that conducts reconnaissance and gathers information about the locations of the ACL. They also develop plans for operations to search for the golden branches. This section is armed with body armor, ballistic shields, pistols, shotguns, and electric batons, and uses armored vehicles as their means of transport.
LCE, aka EKL The Limbus Corporation's ECL, or Enkephalin,[13] is a research and development department that studies, researches, classifies, and contains anomalies, distortions, and minor sins. Monoliths extract equipment from EPOS anomalies and produce enkephalin. Some former Lobotomy researchers work in this department. The ECL EPOS differs from the Lobotomy Corporation EPOS in appearance[14] and production capacity. Specifically, these EPOSs are closer to the characteristics of the original anomaly. Users of the ECL EPOS, thanks to their high assimilation rate, also known as "tuning speed," are able to utilize the original anomaly's characteristics with greater flexibility than the Lobotomy Corporation EPOS.
Departments of the Limbus company
Limbus is a company made up of many departments that perform their own tasks almost independently of each other and, at least outwardly, do not seem to be connected by a single goal.
LCA is the company's most influential department, whose specialization is currently unknown. This department includes a special operations team.
LCA R&D LCA R&D is a research and development department. They presumably study identities and EGOs. They've created a launch module for rapidly upgrading identities and EGOs.
LCA Mirror World Observatory Department The LCA Mirror World Observation Department is a department that studies mirror worlds and the extraction of identities and EGOs from Mirror Worlds.
The Limbus Company Bus [6] or AKL is a department that searches for and recovers Golden Branches from destroyed branches of the Lobotomy Corporation. This department possesses mirror technology, which allows Sinners to use identities and a unique vehicle, the Mephistopheles. Manager Dante, thanks to his watch, is able to resurrect Sinners.
Sinners are the ACL's employees and core fighters, contracted to the company and capable of resonating with the Golden Branch. Despite incompetence, mediocre combat skills, personal conflicts, and the lack of discipline of some Sinners, they demonstrate considerable effectiveness thanks to their individual skills and, frankly, luck.
In addition, the ACL includes a guide who accompanies sinners around the city and a driver for Mephistopheles.
LCD, also known as ICL The Limbus Distortion Department, or Distortion Research Unit,[11] is a department staffed by specialized correctors who focus on the Distortion Phenomenon. While the department is small, its existence demonstrates the company's genuine interest in studying the Distortion Phenomenon.[12]
Correter Offices
"Offices" is a term that encompasses all legal entities and organizations founded and staffed by spotters. All offices are registered with the Khan Association and receive a license and rank from it. The person who manages the office, hires new spotters, and selects orders is called an Operator or Representative.
Corporations (5)
U Corporation It is located in and controls 21 districts and is also a monopoly on the Great Lake.
A corporation that produces stasis conservators[27], which are used in particular for the "comfort" of wealthier passengers on VARP trains, as well as "Resonance Tuning Forks", which allow various parts to be combined as if they were originally designed that way.
X Corporation It is located in and governs the 24th district.
This corporation possesses a unique alloy, using it to manufacture various items, from a boat for a color spotter to universal wrenches. The specific properties of the alloy and the nature of the singularity are unknown to us.
Wing mines his alloy in so-called hellholes – networks of underground tunnels where, in addition to the alloy, various items can be found, such as a microwave made from superalloy.
Y Corporation It is located in and governs the largest 25th district.
At the moment there is no information about the corporation and its singularity.
Z Corporation At the moment there is no information about the corporation and its singularity.
Corporations (4)
L Corporation Situated in and governing the 12th district.
After the fall of the Lobotomy corporation, the Head has not yet appointed a new L corporation, and the nest, without the protection of a wing, has been assimilated into the back alleys[13], for which the Syndicates, including the Fingers, are fighting.
M Corporation
Situated in and governing the 13th district.
The wing is called "MDM Enterprise"[14]. It has a singularity called "Moonstone"—a material that looks like a golden metal and absorbs psychological damage. This material is used to coat clothing or make jewelry.[15]
R Corporation
Situated in and governing the 16th district.
The wing's singularity is the expansion and curvature of space, which differs from similar devices, such as subspace bags, by its complete isolation from the outside world—the more expensive the product, the safer the interior space.
Q Corporation Situated in and governing the 17th district.
Using his singularity, Q Corporation produces seals and talismans with various effects, including strengthening a sword or binding an enemy, which require certain conditions to be met to activate, such as strengthening a sword if a thief refuses mercy.
R Corporation
Situated in and governing the 18th district.
A private military corporation whose singularity is human cloning technology.
T Corporation
Situated in and governing the 20th district.
The wing is called TimeTrack. The corporation's singularity allows for the manipulation of time. The technology is highly limited and exhibits "distortions" that manifest after its use: to give a precise example, while 10,127 years, 5 months, 17 hours, 28 minutes, and 48.521 seconds passed in the looping main complex of Lobotomy Corporation, 10 years, 3 months, 4 hours, 45 minutes, and 12.852 seconds passed in the outside world.
Corporations (3)
H Corporation
Situated in and governing District 8.
The wing is called the Hongyuan Bioengineering Group[4]. H Corporation uses its singularity to produce Boluses—medicines containing healing essences. They can be used in a variety of ways.
Corporation I
Situated in and governing the 9th district.
At the moment there is no information about the corporation and its singularity.
J Corporation Situated in and governing the 10th district.
The Wing is known for its singularity, "blocking" anything, both physically and conceptually, such as blocking memories with tattoos[7] (the connection with the memory erasure of WARP train cleanup personnel and the memory blocking of former Arbiters is ambiguous).
K Corporation
Situated in and governing the 11th district.
A corporation that develops medical technologies. They have the HP singularity (full name: Hylopnesis)—a technology sold as ampoules, healing bullets, and bandages that, using nanomachines, quickly heal wounds and injuries (both physical and mental) while the brain is functioning.[10] However, in reality, the singularity does not regenerate, but rather restores the original state.
In addition to medical services, Corporation K uses its singularity for developments in the food industry.
Corporations (2)
Corporation A Situated in and managing 1 district.
It handles the registration and protection of singularity patents, the creation of new wings, tax collection, and the establishment of City taboos. The wing is headed by the Head[3]. It has corporations B and C under its control.
It has a full-time force—the Arbiters. Currently known Arbiters include Garion (now deceased) and .
B Corporation Situated in and governing the 2nd district.
Controlled by Corporation A, it is responsible for the qualification and closure of wings. It writes the rules for the singularities of each wing, which must be followed. It maintains a vast spy network that monitors the City. It is informally known among the citizens as "the eyes."
B Corporation employees are called observers/beholders. The only known Observer at this time is .
Corporation C Situated in and governing the 3rd district.
Overseen by Corporation A, it enforces the City's taboos established by the Chief. It eliminates violators who disregard Corporation B's rules regarding the use of singularities.
Corporation C maintains an elite shock force called the Talons. The only known Talon is currently .
D Corporation Situated in and governing the 4th district.
At the moment there is no information about the corporation and its singularity.
E Corporation Situated in and governing the 5th district.
At the moment there is no information about the corporation and its singularity.
Corporations
W Corporation is a transportation corporation capable of delivering cargo at speeds approaching teleportation. Corporation N – unknown. Controls District 14 and has the Taboo Hunters at its disposal. J Corporation offers services for "locking" both physical objects and concepts. A memory lock tattoo was shown in DI. Corporation O - unknown. F Corporation - Produces "Fairies" who are capable of opening anything, whether physically or conceptually closed.
Workshops
Workshops are private enterprises in the City, managed by the Tres Association and engaged in the production of various equipment for spotters and syndicates. Workshop leaders are called maesters.
Oufy Association
Mediation of contracts and transactions, supervision of their compliance, and management of affairs.
Association of Dieczy
Gathering and analyzing knowledge, as well as exploring ruins and relics.
Association Nine
Delivery and transportation.
Eight Association
Unknown.
Seven Association
Intelligence, espionage, information processing and detective investigations.
Association of Liu
Large-scale open battles between multiple opponents and total wars.
Sank Association
One-on-one duel matches, as well as joint conferences and events between associations.
Association of Xi
Hidden murders with a guarantee of complete anonymity.
Association of Tres
Workshop Management – checking and evaluating created equipment, as well as collecting taxes.
Zwei Association
Protection and maintenance of order in the City, as well as private security for clients.
Khan Association
Associated Hana - Classifies Urban Threats and assigns ranks to Spotters and Offices, as well as issues licenses and assigns Spotter Colors.
Associations
The Associations are 12 major professional organizations for Spotters, each with its own specialization and dress code. With their large staff, the Associations can cover any need. The Association hierarchy looks something like this:
The President heads the Association. The General Manager is responsible for and manages all branches. Managers manage the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Branches. The Director manages one of the 6 Sections of the Branch. Sections are divided from lowest to highest, with Section 6 being the lowest, dealing with Urban Legends, and Section 1 being the highest, dealing with City Stars. Joining any of them requires passing an entrance exam, but in some cases the Association may accept a spotter without one.
The style of clothing, weapons and the shape of the association's logo may vary depending on the branch.
Associations were created gradually, in the order of necessity and needs of the City
Korektblood ranks
The Correctors community is built on the personal qualities of each member: the more capable they are, the higher they can climb the social ladder.
Ranks are a way to evaluate a Spotter's strength and skill, with the lowest rank being 9th and the highest being 1st. The most outstanding 1st-rank Spotters are awarded a Color. The higher a Spotter's rank, the wider their range of requests and, consequently, the greater their wealth and fame. The Khan Association can either lower or raise a Spotter's rank depending on their actions. Becoming a Color Spotter grants complete freedom, as Colors are typically not hierarchically bound to Offices or Associations, allowing them to accept any requests and perform any actions that do not violate Taboos and are approved by the Khan Association. The Khan Association awards a Color only to the very best, and in the event of Taboo violations or inappropriate behavior, it reserves the right to revoke a Color and demote them to 9th rank or, in extreme cases, elevate them to the rank of City Star threat.
Proofreaders
Fixers are go-betweens, willing to undertake any task for a fair fee, from finding a cat and protecting clients to assassination and espionage. Wherever money is involved, Fixers will always be there, representing the interests of one Association or another. They have evolved into a distinct class, influencing the life of the City even by simply hanging around the back streets. The main difference between Fixers and Syndicate Members is the possession of Licenses issued by the Khan's Association and a strict hierarchy: Each Fixer is assigned to a specific Office, and most Offices are governed by one of twelve Associations, which, in turn, report to the Khan's Association. Being a Fixer means being a link in a long bureaucratic chain.
To attract more requests, Spotters can advertise themselves or their Office, but they should not force their services through threats. There are no uniform rules restricting Spotter uniforms, so each Office maintains its own uniform and distributes brochures with recommended dress codes. It's not strict, but blatant deviations can result in reprimands, and those who deliberately fail to adhere to the dress code are slowly pushed out of the community, as a neat appearance attracts clients and conveys a sense of prestige that distinguishes them from the riffraff of the back alleys. Spotter uniforms are not unique and can be purchased at any store, but when it comes to combat missions, specialized clothing is used that provides enhanced protection.
Little finger
Nothing is known about this Syndicate.
Ring Finger
A syndicate of connoisseurs of knowledge and contemporary art, which is vulgarly disfigured and all their "masterpieces" are made from people (dead).
Middle finger
A syndicate that honors brotherhood, family, and blood feud.
Index finger
A syndicate that blindly obeys the mysterious Orders.
Thumb
A syndicate that is very sensitive to hierarchy and subordination (somewhat reminiscent of the Italian mafia)
Fingers
The Five Fingers, also known as the Hand of the Gates, are the five largest Syndicates, comprising the Thumb, Index, Middle, Ring, and Little Fingers. They divide the City Districts among themselves and, to put it mildly, are at odds over this and can spark internecine wars for territory on a scale comparable to those waged by Corporations.
Sometimes the Fingers call a Finger Bow-Bell meeting, during which conflicts between Fingers cease.
Their power prevents the Associations and Corporations from interfering in the affairs of the Fingers. Even the Head is reluctant to use his powers.
On the one hand, the Fingers hold the City in their hand and are the cause of absolute lawlessness, but on the other, paradoxically, with their Tyranny they maintain order in the Backstreets.
Syndicates
Syndicates are criminal organizations that are fundamentally no different from Spotters and often perform the same tasks, such as protection, assassinations, or combat missions.
Unlike the Fixers, they aren't constrained by red tape, which comes at the cost of being outbid. Their methods are also more brutal and "dishonest," such as taking over a house without consulting the owner and executing them for non-payment.[1] Their primary method of becoming "popular" is raiding offices.
But don't think that syndicate members are all criminals and thugs: some of them, like the Syndicate Hunters, are closer to vigilantes, while others work with the offices without any prejudices as less rule-bound "colleagues".
Gateways
Backstreets (also known as Backstreets or Alleys) are a subset of residential areas in each District, characterized by a lower standard of living. They stretch across the City like a web, occupying a large portion of its area.
The Backdoors represent a wide range of social classes: from the homeless, the insane, cannibals, organ traffickers, and gangsters, to wealthy Spotters and members of the middle class. In other words, those who couldn't afford to live in the Nest found refuge there.
Many people think of Podvorotni as completely inhospitable and unlivable slums. Yes, residents there risk being murdered every day, but that's not entirely true—in some areas, there are clothing stores, grocery stores, dry cleaners, restaurants, and so on.
The reason the Backstreets aren't torn apart is because the Fingers maintain some semblance of order, though they only care about the security of their territory. Furthermore, if residents have enough money, they can also be protected by Associations, Offices, or Syndicates, but the level of security compared to the Nest is still quite pitiful.
Nests
The Nest is the district's urban center, each supported and governed by a Wing. Under the Wing's rule, the Feathers, as the citizens are called, live comfortable and secure lives.
Nests have unique architecture, culture, and technological level[3] depending on the District, but they all share one thing in common - they contain markets, office buildings, schools, institutes, Association headquarters, and residential areas.
The Nests are completely separated from the Gateways in terms of access. Each wing uses its own methods, such as electric barriers, plasma walls, and even regular fences—all of which help prevent illegal entry and also provide excellent views, allowing Nest residents to have a clear view of the Gateways, and vice versa.
An immigration permit to the Nest can be obtained by passing an entrance exam or under special corporate conditions. Once a person finds permanent employment and earns a sufficient salary, they can move their family out of the Subway. In the Nest, one must pay taxes for rent and food expenses; otherwise, they will be expelled from the Nest and end up in the Subway.
It should be said that children born in the Nest immediately receive the status of a resident of the Nest, where they receive a high education to become employees of the Wing.
City
The City is a gigapolis located on the shores of the Great Lake and divided into 26 Districts,[1] each containing a Nest and Backwaters. Outside the City are the Outskirts, and underground within the City are the Ruins.
The Head rules the entire City with an iron fist, while each District is controlled by its own Wing. The City's currency is the An.
As for languages, there are 13 languages spoken in the City, and there is also the language of the cleaners.
As already mentioned, the City is divided into 26 districts, located in a spiral and connected by a transport network of WARP stations and countless streets.
Limbus Company
Due to its secrecy, it's extremely difficult to say anything concrete about Limbus: neither its exact objectives nor the location of its headquarters are known. One of its rules prohibits even the contents of an employment contract between an employee and the company.[1] Only a few things can be said with certainty: it's relatively young and relatively unknown, but despite this, it possesses significant financial assets, ensuring its departments have no shortage of cutting-edge equipment.
To ordinary citizens, Limbus actively cultivates its reputation as an organization dedicated to suppressing, capturing, and studying distortions at a corporate level, unlike the Correctors, but its true goals are far more murky and mysterious. Some of the goals highlighted in the game as primary include collecting Lobotomy Corporation equipment and enkephalin, and obtaining Golden Branches.
In addition, the company is engaged in the collection and sale of monoliths,
EGO
An E.G.O. is a type of personalized equipment created by the human mind. It typically takes the form of super-powerful weapons and/or armor.
There are two main types of EGO: EGO extracted and borrowed from an anomaly, and EGO manifesting within the individual. Limbus Sinners utilize the first type.
(all sinners except Dante and Charon have E.G.O.)
Driver (Charon)
Character: calm, almost indifferent, does not know how to navigate using maps.
(Charon doesn't participate in battles at all and just drives Mephistopheles (a Limbus company bus))
Guide (Virgil)
Character: He's morally tired, doesn't hide his irritation with sinners, and might even try to force politeness out of himself with Dante. (He knows a lot of things and people in Limbus Company.)
Appearance: pale gray skin + gray hair + red eyes.
Cloth: Black shirt + dark gray jacket + dark gray pants + black shoes.
(Virgil himself does not participate in battles, but simply accompanies the team) (at most, he enters into combat when things start to get heated, or when strong anomalies appear, and fights with a dagger that seems to always have a red-hot blade)
(Virgil is also a color corrector better known as "Red Eye".)
Manager (Dante)
Sinner No. 10
Character: He can easily get confused in a difficult situation, but he can make a joke about a watch even in serious situations. He's kind. (The most that can happen is the ticking of a watch.) (He also has no memory before he replaced his head with a watch.)
Appearance: Instead of a normal human head, there is a prosthetic watch from which an unusual black and yellow flame emerges.
Cloth: Black shirt + black pants + red tie + red coat (unbuttoned) + black shoes + black gloves.
Dante is connected to the sinners by a kind of pact, through which he received the ability to object to the sinners if he turns back the time on the clock on his head, but in exchange he receives the damage that the sinner received before his death.
Faust
Sinner #2.
Character: She believes that no one is smarter than her, prefers to stand aside and observe, is quiet, calm, and doesn't like it when her explanations are criticized. She knows a lot about the Limbus company but cannot disclose all the information due to a contract.
Appearance: Short white hair + blue eyes.
Cloth: Pale beige sweater + black vest + black pants + black coat (just thrown over the shoulders) + ID card + black shoes.
(fights with a sword)(works as a translator for the Manager (Dante) and translates his ticking into human speech)
Gregor
Sinner No. 13
Character: calm, smokes a lot
Appearance: Brown hair (usually tied in a short ponytail) + brown eyes. Gender: male
Cloth: White short-sleeved shirt + black vest + black pants + red tie + ID card + black shoes.
(Gregor's right hand is a bio-prosthetic of an insect, meaning that Gregor has an insect's paw instead of a hand)
Outis
Sinner No. 12
Character: Cold-blooded and calculating, not particularly inclined to subordination, but obeys only the manager (Dante), (and often sucks up)
