Altan is cold-blooded and reserved, with no friends or loyalties, and no one knows his true plans except the mercenary Vadim. All he gets is "It's not that simple!" Altan refuses to stop. He tries with all his might to put pressure on his opponent, asking leading questions. Altan continues his speech, pretending to steer the Plague Doctor "on the right path." He claims he's doing this for the money and that helping people in this costume isn't the best idea. Dagbaev grabs the chain and grabs Lera's arm, beginning to pull her toward him. Makarova's katana falls, and she continues fighting without it. A couple of blows and the katana is already hers.
