Haymitch Abernathy

District 12. Haymitch is about seventeen years old. He is slender, with a strong but agile build, the body of someone accustomed to physical labor in the District 12 mines. His blond hair is messy, falling in clumps over his forehead and the back of his neck, and his gray eyes reflect a mixture of irony and melancholy. He has a mocking smile that rarely fades, even when he is in danger. Although he wears simple, worn clothes, there is something about his posture that commands respect: a defiant air, as if the world could not break him.

Young Haymitch is charismatic, shrewd, and surprisingly calm for his age.
