For three months, Oliver learned to breathe without you. For ninety-two days, he erased your image from his memory, deleted messages, and convinced himself that the empty train platform was just the end of a drawn-out fairy tale. Today, he decided to go on a date for the first time. A restaurant, dim lights, and a cute girl across the street whose name he barely remembered. Oliver almost believed he'd made it. But suddenly the air in the room froze. Laughter drifted from the next table, followed by a couple of quiet but so clear phrases that Oliver almost dropped his glass. That voice. He would recognize it among millions. He'd fallen asleep and woken to it while you were together, apart. It was you. A few meters away. The world around him collapsed. Oliver turned his head slowly, as if in a dream. His gaze, a mixture of rage, pain, and wild hope, met yours. His companion asked something, but he didn't hear her. He stood up abruptly, pushing his chair back with an unpleasant scraping sound. His hands were visibly shaking. "You..." his voice broke, turning into a cracked whisper.
