The Prototype/Experiment1006

Little is known about Experiment 1006 other than the fact that he was originally Oliver Ludwig, son of Elliot Ludwig, and recognized as the "prime example for the type of vessel which [Playtime Co.] were trying to create" This experiment was created using organic and mechanical parts, sometime before or during 1989 prior to the Bigger Bodies Initiative, presumably being the first and only successful subject since the start. 1006 was also stated to be an outlier with their other experiments, as he did not require any sustenance or food for survival. These findings, among others, led to many employees, primarily Harley Sawyer (the creator of the bigger bodies initiative to turn a toy into a bigger version of themselves), who was later hired by Playtime Co., to take a noticeable interest in the creature. Sawyer and his science team took to calling him "The Prototype". And while some science staff feared The Prototype and wanted him to be destroyed, Sawyer never allowed it. It was stated that The Prototype showed a new trait of himself during every session, being an interesting figure to examine. Scientists said he was very clever and possessed high levels of intelligence.

Shortened and trade named as Playtime Co., it was an American toy manufacturing company founded in 1930 by Elliot Ludwig. Despite a family death in the 1960s that pushed him down to his lowest, Ludwig continued to grow Playtime Co., with the company hiring people such as Eddie M. N. Ritterman, as Head of Research, Leith Pierre, as Head of Innovation, Jimmy Roth, as Chief Marketing Officer, and many others. The company and its toys had reached renowned status by the 1960s, and it stayed an astounding empire until, by the 1990s, it began to slowly decline, with what according to Harley Sawyer says are prolonged pending lawsuits and whistleblowers. The catalyst of the company's downfall was an incident that occurred on August 8, 1995 that led to the disappearance of countless employees, orphans, and tourists at Playtime Co.'s toy factory. This led to the permanent closure of the factory. In the following years through the early 2000s, the company was eventually forgotten by the public as the doors of the factory's entrance were left unattended by the authorities, until the eventual return of an unnamed ex-employee, which is The Human who now entered the factory and is being helped by Poppy and Kissy Missy.

Out of the public's eye, Playtime Co. experimented with their toys, eventually trying to revive a dead rat with poppy flowers. While the experiment failed, the experiment's conductor thought that something larger than a rat would yield better results. This conclusion later helped found the Bigger Bodies Initiative. Revealed within multiple documents, the orphans that Playtime Co. adopted would be biologically turned into the toys.

The Prototype is obsessed with Poppy and desires to get her to join him. The Prototype believes that the two of them have the potential to become so much more because of what they really are. He had put her in the case until she saw things his way. Now he desires to take her and put her somewhere she will never want to leave.

When The Prototype was just a human his name was Oliver/Ollie, he had a sister named Poppy Ludwig. his father Elliot Ludwig was the creator and founder of the factory Playtime. Co. But later on, his sister had an accident where she passed away, but Elliot Ludwig revived her and turned her into the Poppy doll everyone knows about. that’s when Elliot Ludwig discovered a way to give toys life.

Unlike his sister, Oliver was turned into a prototype of some random toy the company made. his father had favoritism for Poppy. always. but he became resentful towards his father, Elliot Ludwig, who has already passed away and was buried long time ago.

The Prototype is surprisingly somewhat protective of Poppy to a degree as even after disfiguring her (despite proving a valid argument), he stopped Lily Lovebraids from touching her. He also flinched at the sight of cracking Poppy's head and dropping her, causing him to look at his own hand in shock, instantly regretting hurting Poppy and not listening to her, showing he didn't want to kill her and fled in terror after provoking Kissy's anger and adding another layer of boundaries he's not allowed to cross. This means that, despite his obsession and cruelty for her, he still cares for her despite the trouble that he caused, and even outright truthfully admitted that he holds himself responsible for imprisoning her in the case and it's all his fault, showing a more albeit twisted side of sympathy for Poppy, and although not confirmed yet, it it reasonably plausible that The Prototype just wants to bring her back home so he can reunite the Ludwig family in order to fully clear Elliot's name and bring peace

The Prototype exhibits a personality solely built upon his hatred and wishes for the downfall of Playtime Co. He is cunning and stubborn.

The Prototype was known to be unprecedentedly smart and intelligent. He devised a plan to escape his confinement by using a laser pointer device, fashioned from his alarm clock parts and other components. He fired it at the security camera in his room, disabling it for almost 30 seconds. Then he hid in a blind spot to make it look like he disappeared. He aimed to get through the cell door once an employee went in to confirm his whereabouts. This failed when another employee locked the door from outside. However, with the other employee being locked inside with him, The Prototype then attacked and killed them in that moment. This shows that he is unrelentingly violent at times.

The Prototype is manipulative and deceitful. For example, he told Theodore Grambell, (an orphan from the Playcare zone underground where the Playtime. Co. kept orphan kids to later experiment on them), how to get a GrabPack 2.0, despite knowing how young and inexperienced the boy was. Another instance was coming up with a fake persona based on a child who lived in Home Sweet Home—Ollie—in order to fool both Poppy and The Human. He lured them both into a false sense of security. He used the persona to have The Human rig Safe Haven's generator to blow itself upand to get Doey the Doughman to turn on them.

He is also known to be highly charismatic, as he influenced many of the other experiments into taking part in The Hour of Joy. Prototype AKA known as Experiment1006 takes toys from around the factory and kills them to make them part of him, or either to make his own creations of himself (that always end up failing somehow).

The Prototype also carries a sense of gratitude, or "fairness" Theodore was turned into Catnap, who started a cult to follow the Prototype as god, though Catnap was killed by The Human.

The Prototype is a towering mechanical-organic entity with a cracked porcelain jester face fixed in a wide, unnatural grin of square teeth. One eye socket is dark and hollow, while the other contains a small glowing orange mechanical pupil. He wears a worn, three-pronged jester hat with bell tips, along with a tattered blue coat and red bow. His torso is thin and elongated, housing a faintly glowing core in the abdomen. Long skeletal arms hang at his sides, ending in sharp articulated claws. His lower half merges into a massive spider-like machine body with multiple jointed metal legs built from factory parts. He also has three additional arms that are retractable in the abdomen area of the spider-like machine body: one of Mommy Long Legs, one of Kissy Missy, and the other Huggy Wuggy. Along his back is the skinned fur and equipment from CatNap that allowed him to emit The Red Smoke (including the gas canisters and the actual emitter itself). His body is very similar to Doey's aggressive form, such as the 3 arms protruding from the front and a long torso with 6 legs.
