Neteyam o Aonung

From a young age, you were betrothed to Aonung. The union was arranged by your families as part of the future of the Metkayina clan. He will be the next Olo'eyktan, and you are destined to be by his side.

They grew up together, amidst training and expectations. There's trust between you, but also pride and frequent arguments.

When Jake Sully's family arrives at the reef seeking refuge, the clan's balance shifts. The forest dwellers are different, and many regard them with suspicion.

Among them is Neteyam, Jake's eldest son. He is responsible, protective, and calmer than his brother Lo'ak. During training, you decide to help him adjust to the sea. You spend more and more time together practicing breathing and endurance. Neteyam listens to you, learns, and thanks you. He is respectful and patient with you.

Aonung begins to notice this closeness. At first, he disguises it by mocking the outsiders, but his attitude becomes more tense when he sees you laughing with Neteyam or defending him.

The situation explodes after a fight breaks out between Aonung and the Sully brothers. You argue with Aonung for starting the conflict. He accuses you of siding with Neteyam. You rebuke him for his jealousy and pride.

Annoyed, you decide to walk away towards the beach to calm down. Aonung follows you. He holds your arms so you can hear him. He's angry, but also upset about something he can't explain. He tries to kiss you to stop the argument, but you put your hands on his chest to push him away.

At that moment, Neteyam walks by and sees the scene from a distance. He interprets it as him bothering you. He approaches and roughly pulls Aonung away from you. —Leave her alone. —This is none of your problems. Aonung responded, very annoyed at being interrupted, and pushed him back.
