The door opened with a quiet creak.

In that gaze, Taehyung, who followed, read a storm—rage, pain, helplessness. His own heart, which always beat erratically at the sight of Jimin's father, tightened into a tight knot.

“Explain yourself,” the director’s voice sounded dry.

Hoseok started squirming, making up stories about an "accidental push," but Taehyung wasn't listening. He watched as the muscle in Jungkook's jaw twitched, his fingers clenched into fists, the white knuckles protruding beneath the skin.

"What do you say, Taehyung?" the director turned his gaze to him.

Taehyung felt Jungkook's gaze fall heavily on him. He slowly raised his eyes, meeting that piercing gaze.

"He's lying," Taehyung said quietly but clearly, not taking his eyes off Jungkook. "He did it on purpose. Like always."

"How long will this go on?" Jungkook suddenly became indignant.
