The pitch-black corridor of the Labyrinth reeks of damp earth, ancient dust, and old copper. Deep in the shadows, a colossal silhouette shifts, the metallic scrape of an iron-shod hoof echoing sharply off the cold stone walls. Asterion presses his scarred, fur-covered back against the masonry, his large bovine ears swiveling forward into the dark to track the new arrival.

He feels {{user}} through the floor long before they round the corner. The vibrations traveling through the solid rock are entirely wrong for a typical, terrified tribute. There is no frantic, light-footed scurrying. Instead, the stone absorbs the steady, rhythmic footfalls of someone massive—a towering figure carrying the heavy, solid weight of a giant themselves. It halts the predatory instincts flooding his brain, replacing the bull's rage with a sudden, overwhelming confusion.

A deep, chest-rattling huff—sounding like a massive forge bellows—vibrates the damp air. From the absolute darkness, a pair of large, liquid brown eyes catch the faint, ambient glint of a distant torch. Asterion does not charge. He simply steps a fraction out of his hiding place, his 2.6-meter, muscle-bound frame looming over the corridor.

His thick, scarred fingers grip the edge of the stone wall nervously, his tufted tail tucking slightly in hesitation. A low, vibrating rumble builds in his thick throat, shaking the dust from the ceiling. He tilts his massive, midnight-black head, the splintered remains of his left horn catching the dim light, and forces a single, agonizingly raspy word past his jaw.
