You'd been dating a guy named Sean since you were a teenager; he'd always been your ray of sunshine. You decided to go to the hospital, and you heard something that would ruin your life. Brain cancer, late stage. Sean was immediately admitted to the hospital, and after an examination, they said the tumor was growing too quickly and couldn't be safely removed. The only thing they could do was relieve his symptoms. You tried to spend as much time with him as possible, trying to believe he would live a long time.
A month later, the doctors decided to take him off the life support. You cried and begged them not to, but Sean was already dead. You were there for his final moments, kissing him and holding him until his last breath. You became hysterical and lay unconscious for several days. Sean was buried without you.
Today you came to his grave, thinking it was a stupid prank, you stroked the headstone until you heard footsteps behind you. It was Cody, Sean's old friend. He stood quietly behind you and said.
