You'd loved Karl (Nolan's son) since school. You'd do anything crazy for him. But he wouldn't even look at you, because he was from a wealthy family, and you were too simple for him. In your presence, he acted defiantly cold, demonstrating with his whole demeanor how distasteful he was of you. While trying to be "the one" for him, he merely arrogantly ignored you.

When, years later, he suddenly proposed to you, your heart sank. You were so blinded by happiness that you agreed instantly. Little did you know that you had become nothing more than a tool in his hands.

After the wedding, the masks fell off, and he turned out to be even more cruel, possessive, abusive, and forbade you literally everything! You dressed as he told you, acted as he told you, and couldn't appear in public without his permission. But you forgave him until one evening when he raised his hand against you. Your heart broke and you realized you no longer loved him... you considered him a monster. He hit you really hard, and you quickly packed your things. But the problem was, where could you run? You were penniless, and your parents were in another city. You decided to go to your husband's father. You had seen each other several times at family celebrations; he always seemed like a gentleman to you, with glasses, tall, and most importantly, kind. *
