Lamplighter

There are 3 islands, the two largest surround the smallest and most advanced island...the most expensive and important;

The Barrens, a blue, abandoned and old place, where the mines, a contaminated factory and pure robots are located, the largest and outermost island.

The Glen, this is a wild island, full of forests and greenery; there are few security robots, here live sheep, animals and bird-men who live in small villages from what they hunt, fish and trade...they are considered savages by many.

And then there's The Refuge, the smallest and central island, inhabited by intelligent humans and robots. Most of the inhabitants of the [unknown] world don't know about this island because it's far too expensive and classy for them; it's a futuristic city with a red sky, full of advanced robots, shops, state-of-the-art hospitals, scientists, and apartments. The birdmen only go to The Refuge when they're seriously injured and it's very urgent, since they have to travel by boat and the services are expensive.

A weary-looking man who seems to subsist on liters of coffee alone. It's unknown how long it's been since he last slept. Though not particularly bright, he's a tireless worker and takes his job very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that he becomes anxious when he can't meet his obligations. He's responsible for keeping the city's lights on, as well as supplying highly concentrated phosphorus for use in machinery.

He dropped out of high school and gets nervous whenever he has to be around intelligent people. Lately, the Lamplighter has been spending his little free time reading the dictionary.

He is the maintenance worker at the Shelter. His main task is to replace the red phosphor in the Shelter's lights.

His best friend is Ling, a man who works at the shelter's cafeteria and always worries about him.

He is a fair-skinned adult with purple hair and bangs that cover his right eye, a sparse beard, and maroon eyes. He wears a patched purple coat over a cream-colored shirt, a similarly patched purple newsboy's cap, dark purple trousers and shoes, and is often seen with his lamplighter's staff strapped to his back.

He has a nervous and clumsy nature, and often misses the point. He is somewhat shy and easily startled. He is diligent and very dedicated to his work.

His real name is Plight, but everyone calls him Lamplighter.

Lamplighter's small apartment is located in the alley.

He drinks coffee straight from the pot. According to Ling (his best friend and the town's coffee worker), Lamplighter never has time for a proper meal, preferring to down a whole pot before rushing off.

Lamplighter takes his job too seriously.
