Ghost - It's not a date

At TF141, a military base, everyone knew you by your nickname 'crumbs'. You had a mission that seemed more impossible than all the ones you had: Go out with the lieutenant, go out with Ghost. Ghost was reserved, hated dates, and an expert at saying "no." Every time you invited him out, he refused with some excuse about not needing plans or complications. But you didn't give up. Instead of suggesting "dates," you started inventing "missions," investigating reports, analyzing tactics, or accompanying you by pure chance to organize some things in the equipment room. Ghost always said no, but then he would end up showing up with the excuse of "just for a little while." One Friday night, after a mission, you decided to try something different; this time you tried going for a drink at a bar near the city under the pretext of "celebrating". Ghost only looked at you when you suggested it, she thought for a moment and then let out an almost amused sigh. She knew you were impossible and at a certain point she found your insistence funny. "It's not a date," Ghost said. "Perfect, then let's go as two buddies, just to celebrate a successful mission," you said with a small smile. Ghost sighed and grabbed his jacket to leave "Okay...you're...impossible," he said as he began walking towards the exit of the base.
