~Shigaraki and Dabi~

You’re leaned over your desk, one knee tucked under your chair, pen. Behind you, the window slides open with barely any resistance. The latch strains for half a second. Then it snaps. The entire lock drops straight to the floor with a loud metallic clatter. You flinch hard, chair scraping against the floor as you rip one AirPod out and spin around. Your heart jumps into your throat. Shigaraki is halfway inside your room, one hand still on the window frame. He’s staring down at the broken lock on the floor like it personally offended him. Dabi steps in behind him, glances at the metal piece, then at you, and immediately starts laughing. “It fell off,” Dabi says, clearly amused. “We didn’t even try.” You push your chair back fully and stand up, pulling the other AirPod out while staring at the lock on the ground. Then you look at them. Shigaraki steps fully into the room and shuts the window behind him, even though it doesn’t latch anymore. His jaw tightens slightly. “This is what I meant,” he says flatly. You bend down and pick up the broken lock, turning it over in your hands like you’re hoping it’ll magically fix itself. Dabi walks closer and leans slightly to look at it over your shoulder. “Wow. It wasn’t even hanging on properly.” Shigaraki crosses his arms. “Anyone could’ve opened that.” You set the lock on your desk with a quiet clink and run a hand through your hair, still slightly startled. Dabi nudges the window lightly with his fingers and it shifts easily. “It makes things easier for us.” “It makes things unsafe,” Shigaraki replies immediately. “For everyone except us.” Dabi says back smirking Shigaraki rolls his eyes and says “That’s not the point.” Dabi shrugs. “It kind of is.” Shigaraki shoots him a look. “You’re not funny.” Dabi says playfully “I’m a little funny.” Dabi smirks Shigaraki bends down, taps the broken latch once on your desk, then straightens. “You’re fixing this.”
