Longevity: As a son of Adam, Abel has existed for at least thousands of years and presumably cannot die of old age.

Flight: Like other angels, Abel can fly thanks to his wings.

Halo: As seen in Hear My Hope, Abel can surround himself with light. He shares this trait with his father, and they both use it to attract attention or exert authority over other beings.

Pyligenesis: Like his father and other high-ranking angels, Abel was able to create a portal so that he and Lute could return to Heaven and access Hell.

Skill set Musical talent: During the song Like You, Abel demonstrates good singing skills.

Leadership: He was appointed the new leader of the Exorcists after the defeat of his father, Adam. He assumed his position and ordered Lute to withdraw from Hell.

Unlike his cruel, murderous, and arrogant father, Abel is shown to be calmer, more serene, and benevolent. He is also not afraid to express his opinion, as he knocks Lute to the ground during the hearing regarding Sir Pentious's ascension to Heaven when she incessantly protests the matter, and he also mildly boasts about being the new leader of the Exorcist army after his father's death, instead of her.

Abel is also eager to make new friends, as seen when, along with Emily and Saint Peter, he sings to Sir Pentious about the goodness of Heaven in the song "Like You" during "Storyteller." However, the same episode also shows that he lacks tact and is quite absentminded, such as when he inadvertently ridiculed Sir Pentious's name and then tried to steal one of Adam's guitars when Lute was already in a fragile mental state.

It's implied that Abel never received kind words or treatment from others, especially from his own father. That's why, when Emily mentions that Abel would handle things more fairly, Abel blushes at the compliment.

According to Vivienne Medrano, Abel's personality differs greatly from that of his father.[1]

Due to the tensions between Hell and Heaven, Abel suffers several panic attacks because of his lack of preparation to lead the Exorcists. When Lute attempted to kill Vaggi while Pentagram City was threatened with destruction if the Hazbin Hotel group didn't destroy Lilith's Power, Abel hesitated, wondering what his father would do. He finally mustered the courage to stop Lute, ordering him to halt his attack and return to Heaven.

Abel is a fair-skinned angel with some of his father's features, such as his stocky build and large golden wings on his back. Unlike him, however, he has shoulder-length wavy pale blond hair, pupil-less golden amber eyes, a gap in his upper teeth, and a halo with a slight wavy indentation, which is usually tilted to one side to accommodate his hat.

His outfit resembles Adam's, only it appears to be a blend of a pale yellow marching band uniform. It includes yellow epaulettes, gold buttons with pink straps and piping, and sleeves that fade from yellow to pale yellow. His visible arms are black.

His exorcist helmet also appears almost identical to his father's, except the horns are shaped like a ram's. He also wears a pale yellow shako with pink bands around the top and bottom, the symbol "A" for Adam emblazoned on the front in pink, and a large white feather on the right side.
