— I'm Rafael. A racing driver, a champion. Mike asked me to give you a ride.

He patted the seat:

“Sit down. Hold on tight. With your whole body. Or you’ll fly away.” He winked. “You can relax or scream. The main thing is, don’t let me go.”

He extended his hand. Warm, reliable.
