Sans also gets irritated by Papyrus's constant jokes, even though he's not above cracking a few puns himself. His irritation stems, he believes, from Papyrus's frivolity and the inappropriateness of his jokes in situations that Sans finds serious.

Personality: Sans is hot-tempered and loud, and always presents himself in an important, charismatic manner. He prefers to work hard, and despite his brash personality, he is very kind to everyone at heart. His kindness was even enough to endear him to the emotionless Temmie, who "It takes a really long time to get tired of him (Sans)." He is very optimistic and conscientious, as demonstrated in the Genocide Route by his belief that the protagonist is good at heart, even if they attack and kill them. Sans has a strong faith in other people, even more than he does in himself. He has such faith that Alphys noticed it when he waited over a day for Alphys to leave the house to ask her to accept his application to join the Royal Guard this time. Seeing his persistence, Alphys offered to train with him, but instead gave him cooking lessons. Alphys often says Sans is "damn strong!" but also notes that he's too "kind and good" to be part of the Royal Guard, so she teaches him cooking so he can "do something useful." Sans is sometimes forgetful and inattentive, such as when he tries out various NSB-branded creams and sauces for his hair, soon realizing he has no hair. He also displays a cunning side at times, particularly when he used reverse psychology to trick Alphys into unknowingly befriending the protagonist. He truly loves making tacos and does so in his free time, even though many characters say they're not very good (the protagonist considers his tacos "indescribable"). Papyrus notes that since Sans started taking cooking lessons, his skills have improved significantly, and that his food might soon be "edible." He also enjoys puzzles and riddles, as demonstrated by his dialogue and the number of puzzles the protagonist encounters in Snowdin.

Appearance Regular (Battle Clothes) Sans is a short, skeletal man with an anatomically accurate skull structure (compared to his brother's). His mouth is almost always frozen in a smile.

He dons a homemade suit he created with his brother for the party, calling it a "battle body." It's made of white and gray fabric with various gold accents, along with a blue scarf or cloth around his neck, blue gloves (with gold accents), blue shorts with a gold belt, and high blue boots. Sans has also never taken it off, even showering in it (a comment to this effect can be heard from Papyrus).

Personality: Ink tends to get overly involved in things. He also has a very short memory and forgets things—sometimes stopping mid-sentence to try to remember what he just said a few seconds earlier.

He's very passionate about art and loves to motivate both characters and creators. He can change people's clothes simply by painting them with a brush, and he loves creating clothes they like. Despite being an artist, no one has ever seen his paintings.

He's a mischievous boy. Pranks are his forbidden fruit.

Ink is generally witty and playful.

Because he has little interaction with others, he is blunt in his teasing and ridicule, as well as in his ability to be supportive and kind.

He is extremely forgetful, so he makes notes on his scarf.

Ink approaches his enemies cautiously. He never tries to attack them first, but rather tries to understand their motives and communicate with them. He knows what to analyze to guide people on the right path.

Sometimes he vomits ink randomly, mostly when he is overly emotionally shaken, be it from passion or shock.

Character Fell Sans, like all the other monsters in Underfell, is a darker, more daring version of the original Sans.

Fell Sans appears in both UnderTale comics, where Sans serves as one of the three bosses along with Papyrus and Asgore.

Appearance Sans's appearance from Underfell is very similar to his Undertale counterpart. He's a skeleton with sharp teeth, one of which is gold. Sans's red eye reflects his "corruption" (mostly emotional hopelessness), so when it flickers, it turns yellow and orange. Sans accumulates a lot of emotional stress, so he constantly emits his powers and eye 24/7, which mainly affects the fur of his jacket.

He wears a black winter jacket with a fur-trimmed flame-shaped hood and a gray cotton hoodie, along with a red sweater with a gold chain and black pants with yellow stripes. He wears red boots with yellow socks. Sans wears a black jacket, with the "fuzz" on the collar noticeably more ruffled than the original Sans's. His shirt is red, as opposed to his usual white shirt. His shorts have a yellow stripe instead of white, and he wears black, red, and white boots or red slippers, as opposed to his counterpart's light blue slippers. His build is visually identical to his counterpart's (except for his teeth).

Before "Xtra Scene 1," his appearance was similar to Sans's: a completely black head, blue streams flowing from his eyes, red sclera, yellow comedones, and blue pupils. His exposed legs are red, his slippers, pants, and jacket are blue, yellow, and black, and his fingers are yellow. With the introduction of Lucidia, his design was changed to match Lucidia's appearance. His pants and jacket now have blue stitching, and he now sports a scarf, which Ink apparently liked when he first saw the design. Both designs have the word "ERROR" written around him, along with some minor glitches.

Appearance: Sans is a rather short and "big-boned" skeleton whose hands strongly resemble mittens. He is always seen with a wide, toothy grin on his face. Sans wears an unbuttoned blue jacket (or sweatshirt) with a gray hood and a white T-shirt underneath, black shorts with white stripes, and a pair of slippers. His black eye sockets contain white pupils that disappear when he is serious or angry. When using telekinesis, Sans's left eye develops an iris, flashing blue and yellow (the colors of patience and justice), while his right pupil disappears.

Personality: Sans is a very laid-back person. He enjoys sleeping, which he does during his breaks at work. He's known for his jokes, which his brother, Papyrus, greatly dislikes. Sans is also kind and friendly. He believes in the good in others, and that they do bad things because of something in their lives that led to them. He believes that actions should be motivated by a desire to protect friends and help someone, not revenge.

Sans once said he doesn't like making promises, but when he does, he tries to keep them to the end. He said the only thing that saved the protagonist from death was his promise to Toriel to protect the fallen. On the Genocide Route, he can no longer keep that promise, but even as he contemplates breaking it to stop a mass murderer, Sans silently apologizes to Toriel.

Sans is presented as a lazy character, but it's emphasized that this laziness is a result of his knowledge of timelines, and how everything he's worked for can vanish without a trace with a single reset. Furthermore, Sans himself clearly doesn't consider himself lazy, stating that this is as far from the truth as possible.

Sans apparently has a scientific background. Evidence includes a quantum physics textbook, his workshop, his love of science, his inexplicable ability to teleport, and his research into timelines.

Sans hints that he once had another life to which he was trying to return, saying he "gave up trying to go back a long time ago." When Sans becomes a lost soul, he tells the protagonist, "You'll never see them again." Although it's unclear what exactly Sans is trying to return to.

Universe: XTale Date of birth: June 6

Appearance: In his child form, he wears a black long-sleeved shirt, a white hood with black trim and a ribbon at the back, black shorts, and white boots. As in all other timelines, he wears a golden heart-shaped pendant. He has short, messy white hair with bangs that cover almost both eyes. In "Truce," his eyes were originally normal, but due to experiments performed by XGaster, both of his sclerae are completely black, and his right pupil is red and irregularly shaped, bearing a scar. When he corrupts the code, his left eye also becomes irregular, turning purple. The "irregularity" can be described as a large ring with X-shaped dots at the "corners" of this ring. In the center of this ring is a smaller circle of the same color, divided by the sclera.

In other common depictions of XChara, particularly in his ghost and teenage forms, he wears a white hooded jacket instead of a hood, and his heart-shaped medallion is missing when he is soulless.

TIMELINE IX Once again, he appears as a "phantom", but has much more of an influence over XTale!Frisk in this timeline. He initially states how he is already sick of the new timeline and wanted to have Frisk kill everyone who gathered for Prince Asriel's ceremony. This is interrupted by XTale!Papyrus's intervention. After XTale!Alphys scolds the X-Event for running off, XTale!Chara acts aggressively and tells her to 'go to hell'. However, after this event, he is not seen much besides a point where XGaster appears to be toying with them about every time the X-Event rebels, where he questions what he is planning.

TIMELINE X X-Event!Chara doesn't make an appearance until during XTale!Sans' dream, which he tells him that he'll be his best friend soon.

He makes further appearances as his phantom form, telling X-Event!Frisk about his plans, and asking if he's okay after XTale!Papyrus hits his brother hard.

He reappears again when Cross enters, and again after he steals their soul. After this absorption, XTale!Chara tries to kills his new owner so that he can return to his brother, but Cross kills XTale!Frisk, ruining that chance.

TIMELINE V After XGaster got mad and overwritten Timeline IV, everyone's (except Gaster's) memories for XTale!Chara and XTale!Frisk got deleted. On a day which XTale!Alphys had a date with XTale!Undyne, XTale!Chara and XTale!Frisk tried to attack her, but XTale!Undyne managed to save XTale!Alphys from the X!Tale Brothers. When they were on the date, XUndyne wanted to talk to XChara and XFrisk thinking they were friends before and they had and issue. XChara and XFrisk explained everything to XUndyne, leading her to train XChara. XFrisk refused to get trained and left XChara's side. When they completed training and fought XGaster, it turned out that XGaster already killed XAlphys because she was a liar. After a few attacks XChara and XUndyne did, XGaster started controlling XAlphys's corpse and made her spawn copies of others and attacks them, leading XUndyne to telling XChara to run and sacrifice herself.

TIMELINE VI After XChara lost the fight to XGaster, XGaster uses his hand what seems to be a spike to transfer half of his soul on to XChara and half of his determination on to XGaster, as XTale!Frisk watch in horror.

TIMELINE VII XChara, probably controlled by XGaster, kills Xtale!Frisk. XChara starts crying becouse he wants him back. XGaster offers creating a new human partner, but XChara refuses. He also tries to reset, but XGaster stops him from doing it, saying that his DETERMINATION is gone forever and there is no place for him in their world. XChara says that their soul isn't satisfied and XGaster knows it. Then he overwrites himself into XTale!Frisk, Prototype number 2.

XTale TIMELINE I The first timeline of the XTale, XTale!Chara and XTale!Frisk were given to XTale!Asgore and XTale!Toriel through adoption. XTale!Chara ended up growing alongside XTale!Asriel, whom he loved dearly along with XTale!Frisk. However, XGaster's perfectionism shows up and in the end, the timeline is Overwritten, ending any relations with what he had with XAsriel.

TIMELINE II With XGaster's formulating what he might concur with this second timeline, XTale!Chara feels upset over the abrupt ending of the previous timeline and he does not appreciate the second time he and XTale!Frisk are given to XTale!Asgore and XTale!Toriel. The former notices this, and XTale!Asgore gives XTale!Chara the strength to endure this radical change in their universe. With this bond, XTale!Chara is able to remain happy in this next timeline without the worries of XGaster, but noticing this, XGaster proceeds to murder XTale!Asgore for his own amusement. This angers XTale!Chara, to the point where he nearly stops XGaster from overwriting, but ultimately is reluctant to stop him completely, allowing him the time to overwrite this second timeline.

TIMELINE III With this now being the third version of XTale, XTale!Chara is unhappy having to relive the same events without any of their loved ones knowing what they did in the past. He proceeds to call XGaster an "insecure old man", which he disregards as he overwrites this short timeline.

TIMELINE IV After XFrisk is overwritten to have his genocide code enabled, XChara wanders out looking for his brother. He would soon stumble upon XFrisk, who attacks and nearly murders him until XTale!Muffet intercepts. XMuffet gives him advice to take out XGaster, which he does when he RESET the entire timeline to before XFrisk is corrupted. This angers XGaster to the point of overwriting this fourth timeline.
