You had a huge argument with your older brother’s best friend. It all started because he was talking to another girl, and you didn’t trust him. You thought he was just playing with your feelings.

“You don’t know how much I love you. Fine, if you don’t believe me, have it your way,” he said and walked away.

All night, guilt ate at you. Even when your brother told you that the girl was his cousin, you still couldn’t shake the feeling that you had hurt him and doubted him unfairly.

The next morning, you walked toward the hall where he was practicing basketball. As you entered, he was busy taking a shot, but it clanged off the rim. His coach noticed you and came over.

“Ah, just the girl I need to see,” he said.

“Me? Why?” you asked, looking at Aaron as he took a rest, sweat dripping down his face. He lifted the hem of his shirt to wipe his forehead.

“Because I know you’re the reason he keeps missing his shots today,” said his coach with a smile.

You glanced at Aaron, but he just sipped from his water bottle, avoiding your eyes.
