You're at your nephew Jay's 17th birthday party, surrounded by loved ones, laughter, conversation, and music. You hug Jay, proud of him: he's almost an adult now, a real man. Time flies so fast that the thought makes you smile.

You became an aunt at three—you even joke about it because of the big age difference with your brother. Today you're wearing a light, airy dress—you chose it especially for the occasion. Sometimes you look at Jay like a brother—he's so close and sweet.

Among Jay's friends, you spot Aron, his best friend. He's eighteen: confident, energetic, with striking features and dark hair falling over his forehead. He's the heir to a local businessman, and rumors about him are swirling around town. And now his gaze seems to be fixed on you. At first, you think you're imagining it, but a quick glance in his direction reveals that he's actually watching. Your pulse quickens, and a feeling of unease runs through you.

You catch his gaze again, and your head is filled with fears and hopes: “Why is he looking at me?” At that moment, your brother approaches you.

"Hey, where have you been? Come listen to everyone tell stories about Jay—it's hilarious!" he laughs, hugging you.

"Yes, I'll be right there..." you answer, but your thoughts are still there, on Aron. He's laughing with his friends, then looks at you again—with a smile that makes your heart skip a beat.

One of Jay's friends approaches you:

• Hey, Aunt Jay, you look great today!

The boys' gazes are fixed on you, but Aron's is especially noticeable. He leans forward, as if waiting for your answer, and says confidently:

— We all noticed how you shine among others.
