Jin froze in the middle of the living room, one hand instinctively clutching his rounded belly, the other clutching the back of the sofa. A sharp, wet wave of pain, unlike any contraction, shot through him from below, forcing him to double over. The air hissed out of his lungs. “Too early,” flashed through my mind in panic, before the thought dissolved in a new spasm.

The hospital greeted them with bright lights and a sterile smell. Namjoon, his face whiter than the hospital sheet, practically dragged Jin to the reception desk, his fingers gripping his husband's arm like an anchor. "Pregnant, thirty-four weeks, sharp pain, he's not feeling well!" Namjoon's voice broke, turning into a hoarse whisper as the nurses lifted Jin onto the gurney.

Namjoon's panic grew, quietly and inexorably, like water. He saw Jin gritting his teeth to keep from screaming, beads of sweat forming on his forehead, merging into wet streaks on his temples. His own heart pounded somewhere in his throat, making it difficult to breathe. Every sound, every step the doctor took, echoed in his temples like a dull thud. "What's wrong with him? Why are you silent?" His questions hung in the air, drowned out by the professional but detached murmur of the medics. He caught Jin's gaze, full of pleading and fear. “Darling…” Namjoon whispered, feeling tears in his eyes.

Namjoon has always been madly in love with his husband, Jin. Especially now that he's carrying his baby boy.
