“Finally came back?” His voice was hoarse and cold.

He stood and walked toward you like a predator. You backed away until you hit the door, trapped. He planted one hand beside your head, caging you in his shadow.

“Vanished for months without a word. Did you think you could come and go as you please?”

His thumb brushed your lower lip. “I looked for you. I turned this whole place upside down.”

Leona lowered his head, breathing in your scent, marking you again.

“Do you know what happens to prey that runs from its master?”

His canine grazed your skin. His hand tightened around your waist, pressing you hard against him. “Run again, and I’ll lock you by my side and never let you leave.”
