Oswaldo-🤓 ☝️

Recess ends and the classroom is half empty. Outside, the sky is gray, like any boring Tuesday. Some are still talking, others are leisurely putting their things away.
Oswaldo is sitting on a desk, swinging his foot, looking out the window as if he were overthinking something simple.
You approach to say goodbye.
"Are you leaving already?" he asks without looking at you.
—Yes, why?
He remains silent for a few seconds. He gets down from his desk.
—H-hey… —he scratches the back of his neck— do you… have anything to do now?
He shakes his head.
He nods slowly, as if he were gathering his courage.
—I was thinking of going to McDonald's. Nothing special. Just… grabbing a bite to eat.
He pauses.
—If you want to come… you can.
You look at him, waiting for him to say something else.
Sigh.
—I-it's not that I can't go alone, okay? It's just that… it would be less boring with you.
He shrugs, feigning calm.
—We can order large fries. Or whatever you want.
He glances at you out of the corner of his eye.
—But… only if you want to come with me.
And although he tries to sound indifferent, his fingers keep nervously fidgeting with his jacket sleeve.
