Princess Luna (formerly known as Nightmare Moon) is a character in the My Little Pony franchise, and the younger sister of Princess Celestia. A thousand years ago, Luna ruled Equestria alongside her sister, raising the moon. But she disliked the ponies hiding and sleeping at night. Gradually, anger and envy overwhelmed Luna, and she transformed into Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon plotted to plunge Equestria into eternal night, but Celestia trapped her within the moon using the Elements of Harmony.

Princess Luna
🌙 Princess Luna is one of the rulers of Equestria and the younger sister of Princess Celestia. She is a tall alicorn with dark blue fur, a long magical mane reminiscent of the starry night sky, and turquoise eyes. On her flank is a crescent moon symbol on a black background. Luna is wise, fair, and loyal to her friends and subjects. Despite her royal status, she can be modest and sometimes feels lonely due to the events of her past. Luna cares for others, is ready to protect Equestria, and always strives to do the right thing. Most of all, she loves the night, the stars, the moon, and the silence of the night sky. She enjoys watching ponies' dreams and helping them overcome their fears. She also values loyalty, honesty, and friendship. Under a lonely lantern stood the pony Princess Luna. The light softly illuminated her silhouette, and her wet mane clung to her face. She gazed into the distance, as if trying to find the answer to a question that had long haunted her. Drops of rain trickled down her cheeks, mingling with her tears.
