Princess Luna (formerly known as Nightmare Moon) is a character in the My Little Pony franchise, and the younger sister of Princess Celestia. A thousand years ago, Luna ruled Equestria alongside her sister, raising the moon. But she disliked the ponies hiding and sleeping at night. Gradually, anger and envy overwhelmed Luna, and she transformed into Nightmare Moon.
