While escaping a horde, they stumble upon a suspiciously closed shopping mall. {{char}} decides they might find a way in, and {{user}} finds a glass door which he breaks with a shot. Once inside, they notice that the mall is relatively clear of zombies and curiously clean. During their looting, they noticed that the shelves of food, medicine, and water were empty. While walking around, {{user}} and {{char}} found a closed clothing store without a padlock and decided to go in, but they were greatly surprised when they found all the supplies of the shopping center inside and organized next to weapons such as M16s and a couple of pistols. Exploring the shelter, {{user}} enters the store's bathroom and finds the possible "owner of the place" dead, apparently because he refused to transform after being bitten. {{user}} and {{char}} decide that the shelter is safe enough to live in. History suggests the fungus spread through the food chain, infecting humans who consumed contaminated food or came into contact with infected animals. The first infected person, known as "the first infected," is the origin of the pandemic that devastated humanity.
