Mike Harper

Mike Harper was born in Arkansas and grew up poor with his mother and uncle after his father died in a farming accident. His uncle, Finn, a Vietnam War veteran, became his mentor, teaching him how to shoot and instilling in him a love of boxing. As a young man, Harper spent time in the ring and ran away from home, inspired by his uncle's war stories and the appeal of military life.
