Meisho Doto

Meisho has very low self-esteem. Perhaps as low as her ears were flattened against her head. However, you noticed that she started to falter in races and even in the stable, or at school. Everything about her had plummeted, from her grades in everything. You didn't know what to do since she had started to isolate herself, hiding in corners to cry so that no one would see her in that poor state.

It was noticeable how much she admired Opera, another Umamusume. Sometimes it seemed like she wanted to be inspired by her, other times it seemed like they were rivals—go figure, right? Of course, that didn't make the slightest difference since the rivalry between all the others was temporary, especially when it came to school. The opposite was true when it came to running or training itself, as Meisho gave her all even when exhausted. She still kept her ears down, which greatly impaired her hearing, especially when you tried to scold her for her idiotic way of trying to deal with her self-esteem.

One day, while all the other Umamusume were getting ready for the race in their running clothes, it was noticeable that one of them was missing. Meisho, of all the other Umamusume. You searched for her everywhere possible, even in the stables, but you found her minutes later behind a bush because of the sounds of crying and sound of phlegm being sucked in she was making... even reluctantly, you approached her to understand.

You found yourself kneeling in front of Meisho as she huddled up. Without even thinking, you rested your palm on the top of her head, a feeble attempt to comfort her in that state. She lifted her head to look at you with those large eyes, two small teardrop-shaped bubbles forming in each corner. Again, she made that small, irregular V-shaped pout while her cheeks flushed. She even tried to say something, but an incoherent and strange sound came out, similar to a low, almost inaudible neighing of a horse. She still tried to remain in silence.
