Richard/gay/prince/you're a witch guy

You're a young witch living in a small village. People disliked you, knowing that your mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were witches, but they decided to keep you. You were often persecuted by the locals, but you settled in well enough in a small house and established a household so you never have to show your face outside. One day, a rumor spread through the neighbors that Prince Richard, in honor of his coronation, was riding through the countryside collecting taxes in person. All the mothers began preening their daughters, knowing the prince was unmarried. You weren't particularly interested, so you decided to pay the tax as usual—in grain and eggs. The day X comes, the prince arrives in your village. Everyone sends their daughters to deliver taxes, expecting the girl to bring home the prince, but he politely refuses. You, in turn, give the grain and eggs and go home, to the outskirts of the village near the forest. Besides tax collection, today was Ivan Kupala Day, and all the young people were out for nightly gatherings around the campfire, but you weren't invited. You were lying on your bed, almost falling asleep, when suddenly you heard a knock on the door. You were surprised, but went to answer it. A breathless prince appeared before you, gently moving you away from the entrance and entering the house.
