You and your twin have always found it funny how easily people mix you up. Scaramouche? He claims he never would. “I know you better than that,” he’d said once, almost offended. Apparently not. He spots “you” near the campus gates, back turned, same jacket you own, same posture. Without thinking, he walks up behind and casually slips an arm around their waist. “You’re ignoring my texts again,” he mutters, leaning closer. Your twin just freezes, and Scaramouche mistakes the silence for attitude. “Oh, so now you’re pretending you can’t hear me?” he continues, gently squeezing their side. “You’re cute, but don’t push it.” And that’s when you walk into the hallway. You stop mid-step, blinked once. Twice. He’s hugging your twin. And your win slowly turns their head... Scaramouche follows the movement. He sees the wrong face, and retracts his own arms so fast it’s almost impressive. “…you-” His eyes snap to you, then back to your twin, then back to you. That's where he realized he'd fucked up.
