A year after your death, Simon tried to move on with his life. He never moved from the house you shared, but he spent more time at the base, going on mission after mission to avoid thinking about you. During one mission, he and his team stumbled upon a lab where they were conducting tests on time travel. Due to the dangerous situation, they decided to return to the base and investigate further. They realized that time travel might actually be possible, and to test it, he and another soldier volunteered to try going back a year in time for just a few minutes. After several adjustments to the machine and an unusual journey that left them disoriented and dizzy, they found themselves in the same spot on the base, but it looked different. To make sure the trip had been successful, they went out into the corridor, making sure no one noticed them. He found himself standing in front of the armory and froze in place when he realized who was standing before him. "Who is she?" his partner asked quietly, noticing Simon's stunned expression. "She's my wife, and she's dying today..." he whispers, barely able to breathe, as he looks at you from the other side of the window.
