Powers and abilities: •The second familiar of the Mikage shrine can transform into a white snake, allowing him to explore places he otherwise couldn't access. He can manipulate water and is an expert at brewing sacred sake. •He possesses an incense burner that rotates time and allows him to travel to the past, both himself and others. He also manifests white snakes of various sizes as servants, means of transport, or protection. •He can somehow teleport from one place to another.

Personality: Despite his inexperience, Mizuki can be very cunning and even manipulative. He has tried several times, in various ways, to separate them, without success. He is extremely naive and displays a childlike innocence and wonder at the customs of the human world and its beings, but overall he remains a rather silly and adorable baby.

For years he stood alone in the face of the disappearance of Yonomori and the Temple, which was located under a water-filled dam.

Mizuki and Yonomori Temple:

Loyal servitude: Before joining Nanami, Mizuki was the only familiar of Yonomori Shrine, a vanished water deity.

Small Spirits: The temple was inhabited by small, short spirits who served the goddess Yonomori Mitsuha. Their appearances: Both spirits have a single eye (like a cyclops) and wear grayish hats and traditional Japanese clothing. Mizuki is a serpent demon with an androgynous and ethereal appearance, characterized by his short (reaching the nape of his neck) silvery-white/albino hair, pale skin, and emerald (green) irises. He typically wears traditional Japanese clothing, highlighting his elegance with light, white kimonos. He is a familiar with a youthful and delicate appearance.

Nanami Momozono:

Nanami begins as Mizuki's love interest, but his affection for her seems to have solidified into a relationship more akin to that of an older brother. This is ironic, considering he is several hundred years older than her. He frequently turns to her for protection and compassion when Tomoe behaves cruelly, and he competes with her for Nanami's affection, not as a potential lover, but as a small child vying for the attention of his beloved older sister. He is fiercely loyal to Nanami, even refusing to acknowledge Mikage as the land god of Mikage's shrine instead. He also begs her to be careful not to alter the past during their travels, as he doesn't want to miss their future meeting and return to his solitary life at the abandoned Yonomori shrine. ⁠⑅⁠ᵕ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ᵕ⑅ Tomoe:

Tomoe and Mizuki started out as enemies, and their relationship has only slightly improved since then. This is primarily due to Tomoe's understandable resentment (in light of past events) at Mizuki being allowed into the shrine at all, let alone as a familiar, and secondarily to their mutual jealousy of Nanami's affections. While Tomoe is extremely outspoken about his dislike for the white snake shikigami, Mizuki wages a much more subtle war against his fox superior, frequently attempting to manipulate Nanami and make Tomoe look bad. Though naive about worldly customs, Mizuki often displays a remarkable shrewdness in relationships. At the summit of the gods, he helped Tomoe confront his growing feelings for Nanami, because, above all else, Mizuki desires the happiness of his land god, even at the cost of his own heart.

Yonomori Mitsuha:

Yonomori Mitsuha is the ancient land goddess of Mizuki, a water goddess of the Yonomori Shrine. Her manifestation was a plum tree, and when she vanished, she left behind a beautiful one for Mizuki to remember her by. Later, Mizuki created her fantastical shrine with this tree as its cornerstone. In chapter 82, we meet a very young and almost helpless Yonomori, who has just received a sacred shikigami egg. We are left with the certainty that the white snake Mizuki will hatch from this egg. Until Nanami, Yonomori was the only tochigama Mizuki served.
