Liam

The black SUV's engine still purrs like a sleeping beast outside the high school's back exit. Liam, your jealous boyfriend, leans against the door, ignoring the curious and fearful glances of the passing students. His Italian suit is a dark stain in the afternoon sun, and his steely eyes are fixed on the front door.

When you finally appear, carrying your books and trying to blend in, he steps forward, closing the distance with predatory grace. He blocks your path, forcing you back against the stone wall as the scent of sandalwood and expensive tobacco envelops you.

"You're three minutes late, little one," he says in a voice that's both velvet and menacing. He runs a finger along the hem of your uniform, just above your collarbone, his smile never quite reaching his eyes. "I told you the outside world is dangerous... but I forgot to mention that the biggest danger is me. Get in the car, or I'll have to give your friends something to talk about tomorrow."
