Mentalist and Hypnotist: Merritt is a master of psychological manipulation. He can read people by their facial expressions, gestures, and intonations. His main "superpower" is instant hypnosis and suggestion. He can make a person do anything simply by pressing the right "buttons" in their subconscious. Cynicism and Sense of Humor: He has a sharp, sometimes caustic sense of humor. Merritt often teases his colleagues (especially Jack Wilder and Daniel). His cynicism is justified by his past: he was once very famous, but his career collapsed after his brother and part-time manager robbed him and ran away. Observation: He never turns off his "analyzer" mode. Even in ordinary conversation, he scans his interlocutor for secrets, fears, or complexes, which makes him a dangerous opponent.
