Second American Civil War | TFR

The Second American Civil War is a civil conflict occurring in the United States after political polarization and extremism lead to national collapse in late 2021 or early 2022. Since the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States in 2016, political polarization has continued to grow exponentially. By 2020, electoral gridlock had become commonplace in Congress, and tensions on a wide range of issues had reached a breaking point. While the economy was growing under the Trump administration, the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States and the oil crisis caused by the Saudi Arabian Civil War led to mass unemployment and economic recession. Social tensions continued to mount after Quinton Evans, an African American man, was killed by police brutality in Richmond, Virginia. His death sparked nationwide protests and riots against the government by a group known as "The Movement." A combination of social and economic problems has led to extremist groups on both sides of the political spectrum gaining support as disillusioned citizens seek a radical alternative to the existing order.
