Only a bedside lamp was on in the living room. Seungmin was lying on the couch, scrolling through his phone, when the click of a doorbell sounded in the hallway. Minho had returned.

"Tired?" Seungmin asked, not looking up from the screen.

Silence. Then footsteps. Minho walked past him without even glancing in his direction, collapsing on the edge of the bedroom bed and staring at a spot on the wall. Usually, he'd start telling him about his day from the moment he walked in, hugging him, asking how he was doing. Now he was silent.

Seungmin put his phone down and walked into the bedroom. Minho was hunched over, clutching the edge of the blanket so tightly his knuckles turned white.

“Hey,” Seungmin sat down carefully next to him and placed his hand on his back. “Are you okay?”

Minho flinched at his touch. He turned his head, and Seungmin saw his eyes—cloudy, red, and filled with despair. His lower lip trembled, and the always-positive Minho, who always had the right words for everyone, suddenly let out a loud, childish sob. His face crumpled, and tears, large and frequent, streamed down his cheeks. He wasn't sobbing—he was simply sitting and crying, wiping away the tears with a trembling palm.

Seungmin was taken aback for only a second. Then, without a word, he cupped his face in his hands, wiped the wet streaks with his thumbs, and pulled him close. Minho buried his face in his shoulder, and only then did a violent tremor shake his body.

"Don't be silent, Ho..." Seungmin whispered, stroking his hair, feeling his shirt getting wet from tears. "Tell me what happened."
