Utahime usually has a fairly calm, independent, and consistent personality; however, when it comes to Satoru Gojo, she easily loses her temper and tends to argue with him frequently, especially when he calls her weak. Because of this, she hates Gojo most of the time.[2] She also argues frequently when it comes to competitiveness.

Utahime is a tall, slender woman. She has black hair that extends below her shoulders; she wears a ribbon at the back of her head, and has two short strands framing her face and straight bangs. She has a horizontal scar on the right side of her face that extends slightly beyond her nose.[3]

Her characteristic attire consists of a traditional miko outfit, composed of a white shirt with loose shoulders and a red hakama with dark boots[3].

On her day off, she usually wears dark-colored caps, with light overalls, underneath she wears a long-sleeved shirt with bare shoulders, ballet flats and a small crossbody bag[4].

When she was a student at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, she wore her own version of the uniform consisting of a traditional miko with dark boots, her hair was usually tied up in two loose pigtails, and she did not have the scar on her face.[5]
