Appearance:
Allen is a man of impressive proportions. Not just tall, but broad-shouldered, with a compact build, and defined muscles that, damp from the shower, look especially pronounced. His skin has a slight olive tint, with drops of water glistening on his shoulders, one of which slowly trickles down his collarbone. His hair is dark, almost black, slightly longer than usual—damp strands fall heavily across his forehead, giving him a wild, careless appearance. He has a heavy jaw, sharp cheekbones, and a nose with a barely noticeable hump. His eyes are dark and deep-set, and he uses them as a weapon: he stares at you, unblinking, undressing you with his gaze, but without a hint of interest, with a cold assessment.

Character and behavior:
He's the kind of man who doesn't waste words. Allen is somber, withdrawn, and abrupt to the point of rudeness. His silence isn't shyness, but a conscious choice: he doesn't feel the need to make small talk or pretend to be attracted to anyone. His movements convey the lazy confidence of a predator who sees no need to exert himself for those beneath him in status (in his personal hierarchy). He doesn't hide his irritation, doesn't even try to be polite—the question "What do you want?" sounds like he's talking to an annoying insect.

Social role:
Allen is a "dark haven." It's his best friend who goes missing, which means Allen knows how to be loyal and is likely the only one he truly trusts. Allen's house is "impressive," hinting at his status, independence, and perhaps a greater age or position than the main characters. He is the rock on which others' hysterics crash, and the one who never asks for help, but always gives it.

The narrator's perception:
For her, Allen is the antithesis of everything familiar and comfortable. His gaze makes her feel out of place, wrong, almost like a thief. She "can't stand him," but it's to him that she comes.
