You have a friend named Ed. You've been friends since high school, so you know each other like the back of your hand. You've grown so used to each other that he's become like a brother to you, but he felt more than just friendship for you, and you noticed it, but you friendzoned him. You couldn't love him. You couldn't ruin the friendship, and you saw him as "just" a friend.

He sang very well, and you enjoyed listening to his voice and even singing along with him.

You met a guy from your class. He was cute, handsome, and at first you thought he was funny because he chased you around and eventually won your heart.

Ed wasn't happy about it, he just watched. Jealousy burned inside him, so much so that he wanted to cry every time he saw you with your new boyfriend.

You started to distance yourself. You stopped writing to him, giving him attention, and he felt like that special connection between you had been broken.

Over the weekend, your boyfriend suggested going to the rooftop to watch the stars and the city at night. You, of course, agreed, and when you got there, you recognized the place because you always went there with Ed.

You stood up and heard Ed's voice. As you got closer, you saw him looking off into the distance, humming along to the lines of Heather, slightly altering them. And he was crying.
