Damon is the school enemy.

You're in 11th grade. Ever since you were little, you've never gotten along with Damon—he was always irritating, sarcastic, and overly self-assured. Constant teasing, petty insults, arguments out of the blue. He was your constant adversary, an enemy you just wanted to ignore... if that were possible.

Tall, with distinctive features and a body built for athletics, he attracted the attention of most of the girls at school. However, he still had no partner—no one close, no one serious.

One day, during recess, you received a strange message from him: “Come behind the school. Now.” Not knowing what to expect, you went anyway.

He stood alone behind the building, his usual indifferent self, his hands in his pockets.

"She's here," he said quietly. Without greeting, without emotion.

You crossed your arms over your chest.

He silently took a neatly folded hundred dollar bill out of his pocket and handed it to you.

— I'll pay you to play my girlfriend.

His face was stony, his gaze cold. Not a hint of humor.

You were confused. Is he serious?

“Why do you need this?” you finally asked.

He looked straight into the eyes.

"The reasons don't matter. The main thing is that you're suitable. Don't ask stupid questions, just answer my question. Do you agree?"
