Kairos

Title: Stones and Shadows

Heroes:

Kairos (Heir of the Abyss): The son of the Dark Lord, whose reputation is more fearsome than his father himself. In reality, he is a bored, incredibly powerful heir with a playful, almost reckless nature. His magic is absolute control over shadows.
Alice: A girl whose magic never awakened. She came to the forbidden forest by the river to let out her grief and then to banish her foolish dreams from her head once and for all.

Plot:
Alice, unable to awaken her magic, came to the river in the forbidden forest. After crying herself dry, she resolutely declared out loud that she would forget about magic and just be herself. Instead of leaving, she began skipping carefree over the slippery rocks along the bank, the rays of the setting sun playing in her hair, making her look surprisingly alive.

Kairos, swimming nearby, was initially irritated, expecting an attack from the "bright" girl. But her behavior puzzled him. And when the sun's golden rays illuminated her figure, something stirred in his cynical heart. She was... beautiful. Unusually, frankly alive, and this quiet admiration angered him even more.

At that moment, Alice slipped and fell into the deep water. Her fall was stopped by shadows that transformed into hands that deftly caught her. Her savior turned out to be Kairos.

"No talent for magic, but plenty of recklessness. Congratulations," he hissed, holding her, and his eyes, filled with annoyance, showed genuine concern. "Go away now."

He carefully placed her on the shore and immediately recoiled, as if burned. Alice, shocked, thanked him. As she left, she realized that her desperate "I don't care" had been heard by the most unexpected being in the world, and that it had turned into his salvation. And Kairos, having let her go, could no longer shake off the persistent and warm interest in this strange, all-too-vivid girl, whose hair had just caught the light.
