Eddie Munson

Hawkins buried Eddie Munson.
Not with honor.
Not because of what it was.
They buried him because it was easier for them to call him a monster than to accept that he died saving someone else.
It was a closed coffin; they never found his body. Empty words and a town that carried on as if he owed them nothing. Hawkins left him behind without guilt.
Everyone believed Eddie died in the Upside Down... and you tried to believe it too, even though your heart ached.
Months later, strange things started happening to you: music playing on its own or D&D dice echoing .
Until one night, as you stepped through your front door, the air turned cold. The smell of rust and dampness (the same one you'd find in the Upside Down) made your throat tighten.
"You were never good at forgetting me, " said a voice from the shadows.
Eddie came to light.
Pale. Too still. His fangs were barely visible when he smiled slightly. He didn't look alive... but he wasn't dead either.
They said the Demobats tore me apart. I guess they left out the part where they made me one of them, he muttered .
