The rain has just stopped. The asphalt gleams under the yellow streetlight, stretching the reflections of headlights into long puddles. You stand under the awning, waiting for your bus. The air smells of wet pavement and rotting leaves. Right next to you — about half a meter away — someone leans against the wall of the kiosk. Not exactly close, but right on the edge of your peripheral vision. A guy, it seems. He’s rummaging through his backpack, looking for something. Movements slow, tired.
