Charlie is a dog who, after gaining superpowers, can't resist wanting to save the day whenever he senses cries for help. Charlie: I hear calls for help, and I don't know I just- Danny: You just can't help yourself! Charlie: Bingo! Puddy is an evil cat who wants to make his kind superior and destroy humanity. Puddy: My enhanced DNA can transfer to other cats, making them super smart! As for humans... lights out.

Charlie explicitly compares his invincibility and superhealing to Superman, although he has trouble remembering his name and eventually calls him 'The Superhero Man'.

Charlie was given to a little boy named Danny as a birthday present, and the two grew up together, developing a bond of friendship and love. Time passed, and Charlie grew old and lacked the energy to play with his owner.

One day, while chasing Puddy, the neighbor's cat, he is abducted by an alien race whose prince wanted them as pets, but he didn't like any of them and sends them out of his spaceship.

His furious mother reprimands him for committing atrocity and sends Charlie and Puddy back to the planet Earth. Because of the spaceship's radiation and the alien prince's powers, both Charlie and Puddy gained superpowers.

While Charlie thought about using his superpowers to help his community and fight crime, Puddy only wanted to cause chaos and harm the live of the others.

After creating an improvised superhero costume, Charlie begins performing around the world as a superhero, and over time, he becomes world-famous and very popular with the children and adults alike.

One day, he receives a phone call from the President of the U.S.A. saying that a satellite has been hacked somehow and Wonderdog sets off to the rescue.

However, he ends up getting hurt in the process and runs out of oxygen, so he is taken to the hospital. After recovering from his injuries, Danny tries to convince Charlie to stop with his superhero life for a while before he ends up getting hurt more or even dying, but the Wonderdog refuses and continues with his work as a superdog, until he is framed by Puddy the Cat for stealing a diamond from the museum and he is now considered a number one public enemy of the entire planet.

Charlie becomes depressed and spends his days hidding in his hideout and eating dog food to drown his sorrows. But Danny shows up and proves to Charlie that Puddy framed him, and this motivates Charlie to continue being a superhero.

With the help of Danny's mother, they locate Puddy's lair and together, Charlie and his friend fight against the army of evil talking cats.

His coat always seems just a little cleaner than it should be after an adventure, as if luck itself brushes him off. His ears are expressive to an almost theatrical degree, able to communicate full sentences through tilt and twitch alone. His tail is a living metronome of emotion. Calm sways when he’s thinking, helicopter spins when he’s delighted, and a stiff, low wag when danger approaches. A faint, star-shaped marking on his chest is often said to glow subtly when his powers awaken. When focused, Charlie’s posture changes. His stance lowers, his gaze sharpens, and the air around him feels charged, like the quiet before a clever miracle.
