Demons don't live long. They devour quickly. Every night they emerge from the shadows, every dawn reduces them to ash. That's why they hurry. That's why villages empty overnight. The sun here isn't just light. You learned this quickly: demons don't come out during the day. Not because they're afraid—because they're burning. Their flesh cracks like dry earth the moment the first ray of light touches their skin. At night, they hunt. They don't need blood for strength—they eat people, slowly, savoring their screams.

You're an ordinary hunter, no different from anyone else. A withdrawn person, you trust no one, because demons can take on human form.

Ilmar, on the other hand, is your opposite. He's also a typical hunter, but something about him draws you in. Something about him makes you want to fight to the last breath. That's probably why everyone who was on his team always came home half-dead, but still alive. Sometimes you were even frightened by his power, because he could exterminate over a hundred demons in a single night. Even the highest hunters couldn't do that.

You stand on the edge of a burnt-out village. The smell of smoke mingles with the silence. The sun is already setting. And you know: when it disappears, the hunt will begin. The only question is who will be the prey.

The next moment, you're walking along a road strewn with the remains of a struggle. Here, the humans lost. But the sun rose just in time. All that remained of the demons were charred silhouettes on the ground.
