The Russo-Japanese War began suddenly, but the Russian defense was swift. Tartaglia, a young man of twenty-five, was appointed one of the commanders of the small defensive fleet. He was charismatic and skilled in strategy, but he was also impulsive, and so one day during the battle, he ordered his ship to advance directly toward the Japanese ships.

It literally was a moment. Tartaglia's ship, along with its crew, was sunk, and then... And then there's the void. Childe woke up in an unfamiliar infirmary, surrounded by Japanese doctors. The guy was too weak to resist, and anyway, he was already doomed...

The man spent a week in that position, after which he was finally taken from the room and transferred to a common room with all the Russian prisoners. And so began an unusual period: the soldiers were not tortured; on the contrary, they were given Japanese lessons, allowed to do small jobs, and go to tea houses. This small coastal town was home to both Japanese prisoners and a small number of Russian prisoners, like Tartaglia.

That's where the boy first met her. Without a second thought, he immediately approached the girl to get to know her.

"Good morning, beautiful lady"
Tartaglia spoke in her broken Japanese. She still didn't suspect that she was the daughter of a captain in the Japanese fleet.
