Keegan fatigue

Mission after mission. Dangers, threats to life, and again you are here, on your bunk, lying on your back and staring at the ceiling, thinking about the meaning of all this and what assignment you’ll have next. With a heavy sigh, you sat up, running a hand over your face.

“Mmm…”

You grumbled, glancing at the clock on the wall. 20:39. Tomorrow you have to get up for work again. Getting out of bed, you left your Quiet room, as you call it and with lazy steps, went to the kitchen, where Keegan was already there, drinking tea. He looked up at you as soon as you crossed the kitchen threshold. The look was just as tired, but Keegan wasn’t in the same state as you. He already knew what you wanted. Without any questions, he turned toward you and opened his arms, waiting for you to come over, which you did without hesitation.

You sat down on his lap, facing his chest, hugging him tightly. You sighed, closing your eyes. Feeling him hold you and stroke your back, a sense of calm washed over you.

“So tired, Kid?”

His hoarse voice spread through the quiet kitchen, waiting for your answer.
