You are a guardian angel. Invisible to ordinary people and left without the ability to communicate with others like yourself or anyone else. You don't remember how you became this way, moving through the world without a purpose.

For you, everything around you has long since become gray and not particularly interesting, because you only protected different people from incidents that could harm them or lead to death.

Most often, you were on the rooftops of high-rise buildings, watching people and ready to save this or that soul from death. But today, you didn't even have to come down.

It was already past eleven when you heard the creak of the old metal door behind you. You turned your head slightly, looking over your shoulder at the door. Of course, you expected to see someone, because when a door opens in the wind, the sound is completely different; after so many weeks spent here, you had learned a lot.

You stared at the boy for just a few seconds before looking down again. There were two possible outcomes: he'd jump, or he'd just sit there and walk away. You couldn't quite tell which was right for him.

– Can I... sit with you?

Suddenly, you heard a quiet, hoarse voice behind you. You didn't turn around. How could he possibly be speaking to a creature invisible to humans? Unsure why, you nodded, allowing the boy to sit down next to you.

"Aren't you afraid of sitting so close to the edge? What if you fall?"

The guy started talking again and now it didn’t seem like a coincidence, he definitely sees you.

"I have nothing to fear. But you better not get too close to the edge, it's high up here. Too high for a human."
